As the 2024 Olympics kicked off in the French capital, astronauts in the International Space Station held their own Olympics ceremony abroad.
On 26 of July, NASA released a video footage of two minutes showing six astronauts performing their own Olympic exercise to boost the athletic spirit on the ground.
The astronauts even passed on a mock torch as the planet Earth seemed visible in the background.

Excitement extended beyond Earth to the International Space Station (ISS), where six NASA astronauts held their own mini-Olympics in a short YouTube video.
The video begins with an Olympic torch relay, featuring a mock torch passed between astronauts Jeanette Epps, Mike Barratt, Suni Williams, Tracy Caldwell Dyson, and Butch Wilmore, who was positioned with Earth visible in the background.
NASA paid tribute to the athletes saying “We have had the benefits of weightlessness. We can’t imagine how hard this must be, to be such a world-class athlete doing your sports under actual gravity”.
