Olympics organizers apologized for labeling South Korea as North Korea in the Paris Olympics.
Olympics announces unintentionally called the flag waving team of South Korea as “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea”, which is the official name of North.
The South Korean sports ministry has asked to meet the Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach over the incident.
Olympics Apologized
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a strong apology after the incident and said it wouldn’t happen again.
“We would like to offer a deep apology over the mistake that occurred in the introduction of the South Korean delegation during the opening ceremony,” the IOC said.
Country’s sports ministry now plans to lodge a complaint with the French government on a diplomatic level.
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol also spoke with the IOC President Thomas Bach Saturday and asked him that such mistakes ought not to be repeated again.
