According to reports that surfaced recently, the United States received credible intelligence that the Iranian government was plotting to assassinate Donald Trump weeks ago.
US security officials quoted by the BBC mentioned that the details of the plot were shared with the Secret Service about the plot and Trump’s security was beefed up after that.
Secret Service Were Notified
Reports mention that the Secret Service were notified weeks before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
The BBS also mentioned that the Secret Service bolstered Trump’s security in June after the intelligence reached the White House.
The US officials have been worrying about Iran’s attempts to assassinate Trump as a top Iranian General Qassem Sulemani was killed during his administration.
Iran Rejects Allegations
The Iranian government rejected the allegations as false and based on fabrications.
Tehran maintained that Trump was “a criminal who must be prosecuted and punished in a court of law”.
