An Iranian film director fled the country on foot after the authorities ordered to imprison him for his latest film.
The artist Mohammad Rasoulof secretly left the country on foot through rugged mountains and harsh environment to avoid an eight year imprisonment.
The movie that is scheduled to release its premier sheds light on recent women-led uprising against the Iranian government after the death of a woman in Iranian custody.
Journey Through Mountains
Mr. Rasoulof, who has won multiple International awards for his outstanding movies, journeyed through dangerous mountains though a secret route.
The artist said in a statement that he had to arrive at the border via a secret route because the Iranian government had confiscated his passport in 2017.
The Route Remains Unknown
The director didn’t provide any details how he made it possible to avoid all the checkposts and reached Turkey on foot.
CEO of Films Boutique and Parallel45, Jean-Christophe Simon, was happy to announce that Mr. Rasoulof had successfully made it to Europe.
