On Friday, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris both traveled Atlanta, Georgia, to meet with Asian American leaders.
Biden pointed out that recently there has been a rise in abuse against Asian Americans, saying they’ve spent a year “living in fear for their lives.” He urged other Americans to “speak out,” saying that “our silence is complicity.”
The meeting comes after a gunman shot and killed 8 people including 6 that were asian in various Spas in the Atlanta area.
Meanwhile, Harris said that the Biden administration would not “stand by” in the face of racial violence.
