The United States House of Representatives finally approved a much needed military aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan after months of delay.
The house approved more than $61bn worth of military assistance to key allies in the times of war i.e. Ukraine against Russia, Israel against Hamas and Taiwan against China.
A total of 112 Republicans, which is the majority of the GOP in the house, voted against the bill as they are staunchly against aiding Ukraine.
Ukraine Thanked House
The Ukrainian President Vladamir Zelenskiy thanks the House specially the GOP Speaker Mike Johnson for taking the side of democracy.
“Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect it,” he said in a statement after the bill was passed.
The original bill was actually cut into four different bills, with separate provisions for Israel and Ukraine.
A bill on military assistance to Israel was passed with 365 in favor and only 57 opposed.
Zelenskiy previously warned that without necessary aid from the US, Ukraine will lose against Russia’s aggression.
