A viral video circulating on social media captured the dazzling moment as the meteor streaked through the dark sky in the early hours of December 30.
Meteor Got Brighter As It Descended To Earth
Described as a sizable blue and white shooting star with twin tails, the footage showed the meteor growing brighter as it descended towards the ground.
The object was seen from various areas, including London, Oxford, Southampton, and Reading, according to The Sun report.
Residents took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their shock at what they described as a “shooting star.”
A Returning Satellite or Meteor?
Despite widespread belief that it was a meteor, some speculated it might have been a returning satellite.
