A German tourist was stabbed to death near the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
According to local media reports, at least two other individuals were critically hurt during the stabbing.
French authorities said the attacker was known to them, and he had mental issues prior to the attack.
Attacker Was Mentally Ill
The French Interior Ministry said the attackers were arrested and are now currently under investigation.
The attacker, a 26-year-old French citizen, was known to the police and was going through mental health treatment.
The suspect was sentenced to 4 years in prison in 2016 for failing to kill someone.
A Terrorist Act
The French President Emmanuel Macron said the incident was a tragedy and urged citizens to not bow down to terrorism.
“I send all my condolences to the family and loved ones of the German national who died this evening during the terrorist attack,”
The terror suspect was heard chanting Islamic religious slogans when he attacked the tourist.
