A damaged Russian spacecraft returned back to earth after reporting a slight leak at the International Space Station months ago. In February, A tiny meteorite punctured the outer surface of Russian Soyuz MS-22, causing a less than one millimeter hole.
Russia Sent A Backup Capsule
A month ago, Russia dispatched another Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) to bring back the damaged MS-22 capsule without a crew. Due to a leakage, both the Russian space agency Roscosmos and NASA had to reschedule their plans and postpone spacewalks. The capsule returned to Earth carrying 218 kg of cargo, with scientific experiment results and station equipment for analysis on Earth.
US & Russia Cooperating
Despite relations hitting their lowest after it invaded Ukraine, Russia and the US have maintained good relations in space. America along with some European countries have been maintaining close relations with Russia, sharing space flights in multiple instances. Tensions on space have escalated following the US government’s announcement of sanctions on Moscow’s aerospace industry.
