Former Trump official said that the video sharing platform TikTok is cocaine amid serious western allegations against the app. Keith Krach, the undersecretary of State for economic growth, in the former President Trump administration argued that TikTok preys on children due to the way it is programmed.
Disguised As Candy
Amid TikTok banning season across Europe and the US, TikTok has constantly argued that it protects users’ data rejecting fears of espionage. “It’s disguised as candy,” the former diplomat said in an interview on “Meet the Press NOW” on Tuesday. Krach also defended banning TikTok by calling it a “digital virus” and the only vaccine is a total ban.
TikTok CEO Expected To Testify
Meanwhile, TikTok’s CEO Shou Zi Chew is expected to defend the security concerns before the congress on thursday. Anti-TikTok lawmakers have argued that the app is sharing data with the Chinese government which TikTok has rejected previously.
