International Court Issues Arrest Warrant For Putin

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladamir Putin for alleged war crimes. The Internation Criminal Court or the ICC accused the Russian President of committing war crimes against Ukrainian civilians including children. The arrest warrant was also issued for Senator Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights appointed by Putin in 2021.

Putin Bears Responsibility

The Court accused the Russian President that he has committed war crimes directly and failed to exercise power to restrain his subordinates from doing so either. Ukraine previously accused Russia of deliberately deporting Ukrainian children to Russia to be used as propaganda. Russia has not yet responded to the allegations since it invaded Ukraine last year.

ICC’s Decision Is Unacceptable

Russia has rejected the accusations calling them “outrageous and unacceptable”. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia doesn’t recognize the decision of the International Criminal Court so its decision is not binding in any way as Russia, along with China and the US, is not part of ICC.
