Intermittent Fasting Is Not Safe, Research Shows

Intermittent fasting has been promoted as a weight loss tool where an individual avoids consuming anything in the first eight hours of the day. It necessarily comes with skipping the most important meal of the day, breakfast. The new study shows that intermittent fasting is far from safe and can have serious disordered eating behaviours.

Research Shows Otherwise

Intermittent fasting and keto-diet are the only two things that pop up in the minds of people who want to lose weight. But that bubble is about to burst as the new research suggests otherwise. The study was published in the journal Eating Behaviors, studied over 2,700 adolescents and young adults in Canada. Intermittent fasting was found to be connected to eating disorders like binge eating disorder.

A Lie Proven Wrong

Men who practice intermittent fasting were found to be over obsessive about exercise, and obsession can reach to dangerous levels. The research also revealed that 52% of transgender or gender non-conforming people, 47% of women and 38% of males had practiced intermittent fasting in the last 12 months.
