Due to a false report of a shooting, which was proven false later on, at the State Fair of Texas, the fair announced it would be closing earlier than anticipated on Saturday, October 15.
Officers responded, according to the department, after learning about a gunshot near Fair Park on Friday night.
It was determined after an inquiry that no shots were fired. There have been no injuries reported. Police remained mum on what could have given rise to the fraudulent allegations.
Additionally, the Texas State Fair attested that there were no police complaints of gunfire.
