The survey shows that covid-19 brought with itself huge challenges for women around the globe. The challenges were physical, economic and mental issues. The medical technology company Hologic conducted a global survey to assess how healthy women were.
About The Survey
The survey started in 2020 and completed in 2021. More than 127,000 were surveyed, including 66,000 women and girls, across 122 countries. Ranking of any country was based on the participant’s responses in five important categories like preventative care, general health, mental health, safety and basic needs like food and shelter.
Women Were Most Vulnerable
The results of the survey were astonishing. The global average overall score of the entire countries was 53/100, ‘‘Half of the entire population’’. The United States got 61 points out of 100 and was placed in 23rd place.
Angry And Poor
‘’Women were more stressed, worried, sad and angry in 2021 than they were at any other point in the past decade,’’ the survey mentioned. 37% of the women said that they didn’t have enough money to buy food and for men, nothing changed during the covid pandemic.
