What happens when a heavily armed suspect is found wandering around a golf course just days before the US president arrives?
That’s exactly the question investigators in California are now trying to answer.
Authorities arrested 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele near President Donald Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes ahead of a Republican fundraising event.
Deputies say he was photographing the property.
He appeared to be monitoring security arrangements before plainclothes federal agents flagged his behavior.
A search uncovered a concealed pistol, a 16-round magazine loaded with hollow-point ammunition, and more weapons inside his parked vehicle.
FBI Investigates Armed Suspect
Later, investigators raided his home, where they reportedly found an illegally modified AR-style rifle, another handgun, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and notebooks.
The notebooks contained what officials described as “concerning statements.”
Despite the alarming discovery, authorities stressed they have not identified a credible threat to the public or directly linked the suspect to a plot against Trump.
However, with the investigation involving the FBI, Secret Service, and local law enforcement, officials say additional charges remain possible.
The arrest comes as Trump visits California for a high-profile fundraiser.
It adds another layer of security after previous assassination attempts in recent years.
