Shots Fired At US Consulate In Toronto, Canada Police Say

Canada police investigate after shots fired at US consulate in Toronto.

What would drive someone to open fire on a diplomatic building before dawn?

That’s the question investigators in Toronto are now racing to answer after shots were fired at the US Consulate Toronto.

In what officials are calling a possible national security incident.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a white Honda CR-V reportedly pulled up outside the consulate.

According to Toronto police deputy chief Frank Barredo, two men stepped out, fired several rounds—apparently with a handgun—and quickly sped away.

Officers later recovered shell casings and found damage to the building.

Fortunately, no one inside was hurt. The consulate, police say, is “highly fortified.”

Authorities are now working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other US officials as the investigation unfolds.

Extra security has also been deployed around American and Israeli diplomatic sites in Toronto and Ottawa.

Security Incidents Probe

The attack comes amid rising tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran and the United States.

In recent days, several buildings in Toronto—including synagogues—have also been targeted with gunfire.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford condemned the incident as an “absolutely unacceptable act of violence and intimidation.”

Meanwhile, investigators in Oslo are probing a separate explosion near the US Embassy Oslo.

Coincidence—or part of a larger pattern?

For now, authorities are treating it as a mystery with potentially serious international implications.
