Man On Parole Accused Of Killing Wife, Mother And Daughter In Turkiye

Prisoner on parole kills wife, mother and daughter in Turkiye.

How does a man on temporary release walk free — and leave three women dead?

That’s the question echoing across Turkey after a gunman allegedly killed his mother, wife, and daughter in Ankara. He then turned the weapon on himself.

Turkish media say the suspect was serving time for fraud and armed threats in northwestern Turkey.

Earlier this month, he was granted an 11-day release. Days later, tragedy struck.

Feminist groups are furious. “Last year, six women were killed by inmates who escaped prison or were out on temporary release,” the Women’s Solidarity Committees wrote online.

“Nobody was held responsible. And today, another inmate has again sowed terror.”

294 women killed by men in 2025 alone, and 297 more found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Femicides Spark Outrage

Advocacy group We Will Stop Femicides called for protests, pointing to grim numbers.

294 women killed by men in 2025 alone, and 297 more found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Over a third were allegedly murdered by husbands. More than half were shot.

Critics argue this isn’t just one man’s crime — it’s a systemic failure. Why are high-risk offenders granted release? Who evaluates the danger?

For many in Turkey, the grief is personal. The anger, collective.

And the demand is simple: if the warning signs were there, why weren’t they heeded?
