US Governor JB Pritzker Wins $1.4M Playing Blackjack In Las Vegas

US governor wins $1.4m playing blackjack in Las Vegas.

Most people leave Las Vegas a little lighter in the wallet — but not Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.

The billionaire Democrat reportedly walked away from the blackjack table last year with a cool $1.4 million in winnings.

Not bad for a holiday with friends.

Pritzker, whose family fortune comes from the Hyatt hotel empire, confirmed his incredible luck at a press conference.

He joked that “you have to be [lucky] to end up ahead, frankly, going to a casino anywhere.”

His campaign team says he plans to donate the winnings to charity, though they’ve stayed quiet on why that hasn’t happened yet.

Governor’s Lucky Streak

According to tax filings, Pritzker and his wife reported an income of $10.6 million in 2024 — mostly from investments — and paid $1.6 million in taxes.

As for his blackjack windfall? He called it a “net number.”

He added with a grin, “Anybody who’s played cards knows you often play too long and lose whatever you won.

I was lucky to leave before that happened.”

Beyond the casino lights, Pritzker has been making headlines for his political battles with President Donald Trump.

Trump once accused him of failing to protect federal agents in Chicago.

As for the governor’s next gamble? He’s expected to bet on a third term in 2026.
