TikTok To Stay In US After Deal, Trump Confirms

Deal is done to keep TikTok in the US, says Trump.

What’s next for TikTok in the U.S.? According to President Donald Trump — a deal.

Speaking to reporters before leaving for a state visit to the UK, Trump said he’d “reached a deal with China.”

He planned to call President Xi on Friday to lock it in.

For now, the looming ban has been pushed back again, this time until December 16.

What’s On The Table?

The Wall Street Journal reports TikTok’s U.S. operations would shift to a new entity.

The new entity would be controlled by an investor group including Oracle, Silver Lake and Andreessen Horowitz.

U.S. investors would hold roughly 80% of the stake and Americans would dominate the board — even with a government-appointed member.

The deal also lets U.S. users move to a new app using ByteDance’s recommendation algorithms under license.

Oracle would continue hosting TikTok’s U.S. data — a major concern for lawmakers worried about Chinese access.

“We’ve reached a framework,” a U.S. trade official said, though China insists no deal will compromise its companies.

It’s been a long dance: TikTok briefly went dark in January, bans delayed four times, lawsuits filed, and national security warnings issued.

Now, after years of wrangling, the world’s hottest app might finally get its American happily-ever-after — or just another plot twist.
