One Dead And Multiple Officers Hurt In Texas Border Patrol Shooting

One dead, officers injured in shooting at US border patrol facility.

What drives someone to show up armed and in tactical gear at a federal building before sunrise?

That’s the question authorities are asking.

Ryan Lewis Mosqueda, 27, opened fire at a Border Patrol annex near McAllen, Texas, early Monday morning.

Armed with a rifle and dressed for combat, Mosqueda unleashed dozens of rounds toward the building and agents inside.

He was ultimately shot dead by return fire.

Three people were injured in the attack, including a McAllen police officer shot in the knee. All are now recovering.

“This was a serious and chaotic situation,” McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez told reporters.

“It’s still under investigation, and we don’t yet have a clear motive.”

Who’s The Suspect?

Mosqueda had no criminal history and was reported missing just hours before the shooting.

His car—spray-painted with cryptic lettering—was found nearby, loaded with extra weapons and ammo.

The incident temporarily shut down traffic near McAllen Airport and raised serious questions about security at the border and beyond.

The FBI has taken over the investigation, and officials say there’s no ongoing threat.

While motives remain murky, one thing is clear: this was a close call that could have ended much worse.
