What do seashells, Instagram, and a former FBI director have in common?
A storm of political drama, apparently.
James Comey—yes, that James Comey—posted a photo of shells spelling out “8647” on Instagram.
The caption read: “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”
Sounds innocent, right? Not so fast.
Some took it as a coded message: “86” can mean “eliminate,” and Trump is the 47th president.
That combo? Republicans say it spells assassination.
Comey insists he didn’t mean anything by it.
“I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence,” he later posted after deleting the photo.
“I oppose violence of any kind.”But Trump isn’t buying it.
“A child knows what that meant,” he told Fox News. “That meant assassination.”
What’s Happening?
Now, the Secret Service is investigating.
“We take rhetoric like this very seriously,” said spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Even the current FBI says it’s involved.
The backlash? Loud. Trump Jr. accused Comey of calling for murder.
Homeland Security chimed in. And political X (formerly Twitter) lit up.
Comey’s tenure already had its share of plot twists.
