US President Donald Trump is negotiating an agreement with Ukraine to access its rare earth minerals in exchange for military aid.
According to a report by Kyiv Independent, Ukraine knows that the only leverage it has to sway Trump to his side is by providing its trillion-dollar mineral resources to the US.
Ukraine Proposed The Idea
With China controlling 70% of the world’s rare earth production, the US has been scrambling to diversify its supply chain.
Now, Ukraine may have a game-changing offer: access to its trillion-dollar mineral reserves as part of a “victory plan” to secure long-term Western support.

According to the report, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pitched the idea to foreign leaders.
He knew that if Donald Trump returned to the White House, Kyiv might face increased pressure to strike a deal with Moscow.
The proposal includes titanium, lithium, graphite, and uranium—key materials for defense, energy, and tech industries.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz swiped at Trump’s “selfish” foreign policy, criticizing any transactional approach to international support.
