The family and relatives of notorious Menendez brothers have urged the courts to consider the release of the two brothers after new evidence.
The new evidence suggests that the two brothers, Lyle and Erik Menendez, acted in self-defense after years of emotional and physical abuse.
Menendez Brothers Faced Abuse
At a press conference on Wednesday in Los Angeles, relatives and friends of the Menendez brothers said the brothers faced abuse at home which led to the killings three decades ago.
Anna Maria Baralt, niece of Jose Menendez, said in the conference that it is a shame that we still don’t believe that men can be sexually abused even by their parents.
Who Are Menendez Brothers?
The Menendez Brothers, sons of a wealthy Cuban American named Jose Menendez, murdered their parents in 1989 at their home in Beverly Hills.
