SpaceX Launches Mission To Bring Back Stranded Astronauts in Orbit

SpaceX has launched a mission to bring back the two NASA astronauts stranded at the International Space Station for months.

The spacecraft took off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Florida with enough food and medical supplies with two empty seats to bring back NASA’s Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore.

Astronauts Will Return in February

The spacecraft heading towards the ISS in Earth’s orbit is expected to bring back the astronauts by February, according to CNN.

SpaceX’s Dragon capsule is accompanied by NASA’s astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov with months of supplies for the two stranded astronauts.

Why Are Astronauts Stranded?

The two astronauts have been at the ISS caused by technical issues with their ship, the Boeing Starliner.

The spacecraft returned to Earth on 6 September without carrying anything as it was deemed too risky for astronauts to travel.

SpaceX’s Dragon capsule has already left Earth with two empty seats to return the astronauts.
