Newly released footage by the US Coast Guard shows the remains of the Titan submersible, which tragically imploded in June 2023.
The video captures the tail side of the submersible with the OceanGate logo clearly visible on one side.
The small submarine imploded on its descent to the Titanic wreck, killing all five people aboard.
Public Hearings Commence
The video footage was released by the USCG as the former director and an employee testified in front of a public hearing regarding the tragedy after months of investigation.
OceanGate’s former operations director, David Lochridge, recently testified that he had raised concerns about the sub’s safety prior to his dismissal in 2018.
The former director was later sued by the company for revealing confidential information.
But in a similar hearing, a former employee at the company said the submersible passed all standard tests before it was deployed for operations.
