Hip-Hop star Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City after voluntarily traveling to the city, according to his attorney, Marc Agnifilo.
The charges against Combs have not been disclosed at the moment and he is currently being held at an FBI field office.
Agnifilo remarked that his client was completely innocent and called the case an “unjust persecution”.
Combs Arrested in NYC
This arrest comes after a year of escalating legal challenges for Combs, who has faced multiple lawsuits that accuses him of physical and sexual abuse.
The accusations revolved around his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie (real name: Cassandra Ventura) who filed a lawsuit last November accusing him of years of abuse.
The case was quickly resolved within a day but the recent controversy started after CNN aired footage showing Combs physically assaulting Cassie in a hotel.
Combs’ lawyer said his client was looking forward to clearing his name in the court.
