25 Kilos Cocaine Worth of $450,000 Washes Up on Alabama Shore

Local police in Alabama found 25 kilograms of cocaine worth $450,000 washing up the shores today.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said that they found a total of 25 packages but the investigation is currently underway.

The sheriff’s office said the Dauphin Island Police Department carefully investigated the beach to find additional substances but they were unsuccessful.

Cocaine Trafficking on Rise

This is not the only incident where officials have uncovered a large contingent of cocaine.

A few days ago, the US Coast Guard seized$63 million worth of cocaine at a port in Florida after an intense shootout with the smugglers in the international waters.

Today’s incident took place after scuba divers found the same quantity of the drug while trying to remove trash in Key West, Florida.

Police officials believe the region is one of the coast guard’s busiest for encounters with drug smugglers and illegal migrants arriving at the US.
