Pope Francis is believed to have used an extremely offensive slur for gay people at the Italian Bishops’ Conference.
When asked if people of the gay community can become priests, the Pope said they should not because the church has already an air of frociaggine, which is an extremely offensive slur against the queer community.
Agencies Have Confirmed The Statement
Italian news agencies have confirmed the reports that the Pope did use the derogatory term against gay people.
Although the top priest expressed these remarks in a private meeting with his colleagues, Italian news agencies have confirmed the remarks citing multiple sources affiliated with the church.
Vatican Apologizes
In a statement, the Vatican has apologized for Pope Francis derogatory remarks about homosexual people.
“The Pope never intended to offend or express himself in homophobic terms,” the statement said.
The Vatican said that Pope still considers the Church to be an open place for everybody regardless of the sexual orientation.
