Elon Musk Sues OpenAI For Making Money Against Agreement

Elon Musk is suing OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, for breaching the agreement to not make money from the platform.

Musk said the platform was making money from its services, which is against what they agreed on when he helped found it in 2015.

The lawsuit says that the objective of the OpenAI was to serve humanity, not to make profits.

OpenAI Was Non-Profit

The lawsuit filed by the tech billionaire mentions that he agreed to found OpenAI, along with Mr Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman, to benefit humanity.

The lawsuit blames OpenAI boss Sam Altman for switching to making money, which is contrary to what they agreed to in the beginning.

OpenAI Relationship With Microsoft

The lawsuit alleges that by embracing a close relationship with Microsoft, OpenAI has diverted from being a non-profit organization to a money maker.

“Under its (Microsoft) new Board, it is not just developing but is actually refining an AGI to maximize profits for Microsoft, rather than for the benefit of humanity,” the lawsuit said.
