The former republican and South Carolina senator Tim Scott has endorsed the former president Donald Trump in New Hampshire.
The announcement came after reports that Mr. Trump was pressuring republican candidates to step back from their presidential race.
Mr. Scott said the United States needed someone who will protect the southern border, and that is Donald Trump.
We Need Donald Trump
While talking to an audience at a campaign event in Concord, New Hampshire, Mr Scott said the country needed Donald Trump to untie the country.
“We need a president who will protect your Social Security and my mama’s Social Security.
We need Donald Trump.” The former republican, who dropped out of the 2024 presidential campaign last year, has become the second top republican to have endorsed Trump.
Blow To Haley
The endorsement is a major blow to South Carolinian Nikki Haley who appointed Mr Scott to his senate seat in 2012.
According to CNN, Haley called on Scott to seek his endorsement, but she didn’t expect Scott to endorse Donald Trump.
