Chinese Exchange Student Kidnapped, US Police Investigating

Police in the US state of Utah have confirmed that a Chinese exchange program student has been kidnapped and is in danger.

Kai Zhuang, a Chinese exchange program student, went missing in Utah on Wednesday and has not been seen since then.

The Utah police said they are investigating the incident in collaboration with the FBI and the Chinese authorities.

School Alerted Police

The Riverdale Police Department said they received a call from Kai’s school and was told that the student was missing.

The parents of the 17-year-old kid informed the school because they had not heard from their son for days.

The authorities have issued an endangered missing person advisory for Kai.

Family Asked For Ransom

The parents of the kid received a ransom demand with a picture of their son, indicating that the kid was abducted, Riverdale Police Department Chief Casey Warren said.

The police also visited the kid’s home in Utah, but the family said they had not seen Kai since 28 December.
