US Announces New Sanctions on Russia’s Weapons Suppliers

MOSCOW/WASHINGTON: The United States has announced a new list of sanctions on Russian weapons suppliers.

Those targeted in the sanction list include Russian, Chinese, Turkish and UAE firms who are directly aiding Russian onslaught against Ukraine.

The Associated Press reported that the new sanctions list has made Russia the most sanctioned country in the world, but the results of sanctions are yet to be seen.

The US Departments of State and the Treasury said they had sanctioned more than 250 entities that are directly fueling Russia’s ability to continue its war.

“Our sanctions today continue to tighten the vise on willing third-country suppliers and networks providing Russia the inputs it desperately needs to ramp up and sustain its military-industrial base.” the department said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said US will continue supporting Ukraine against Russia

The US treasury said the list includes weapons-producing firms from China, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey, UAE and Maldives-based firms.

The list also includes three other entities involved in constructing Russia’s Ust-Luga Liquified Natural Gas terminal, the AP reported.
