A US warship came under drone attack from the Yemeni coast in the Red Sea, US Central Command said.
The statement said the USS Carney was dispatched to protect cargo ships passing the Red Sea, but it came under attack.
Attacks on cargo ships make it difficult to use the waters for commercial purposes.

Cargo Ships & US Ship Under Attack
The Pentagon said the US warship USS Carney received an urgent call for help from nearby cargo ships as they were under attack from Yemen-based Houthi rebels.
Carney managed to intercept some missiles and drones, but it came under attack.
“We cannot assess at this time whether the Carney was a target of the UAVs”, CENTCOM said.
US Blames Iran
In a recent statement, the White House blamed the Iranian Republic for enabling the attacks on cargo ships.
“Iran, we believe, is the ultimate party responsible for this.” White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said.
The Yemen-based Houthi rebels are financially and militarily supported by Iran to incircle Saudi Arabia.
