New York City mayor Eric Adams has been accused of sexual assault in 1993.
A woman who alleged that Mr. Adams sexually assaulted her has demanded $5 million in damages.
The court papers suggest that Mr. Adams committed the assault when he and the accuser worked for the City of New York.
Mr. Adams Rejects Accusation
Mr Adams, a Democrat, has rejected the accusations and said he doesn’t remember meeting the person.
He said the incident didn’t happen, and the allegations were false. Mr. Adams was working as a police officer in New York City when he assaulted the woman, the court documents said.
Accuser Demands $5 Million
The accuser has demanded $5 million in physical and psychological damages.
It is not the first time Mr. Adams has faced legal controversies.
A few days back, the FBI seized Adam’s phones and tablets for receiving campaign funding from the Turkish government.
