A freight train crashed into an SUV at a Florida railroad crossing, killing 6 people including children. According to the local media, the SUV was attempting to cross the railroad when a freight train crashed in the middle of it, shattering the SUV into pieces.
Victims Were Going To Birthday Party
As per the latest updates, seven people in the SUV were on their way to the birthday party of a 15-year-old girl. Sheriff Chad Chronister told local reporters the train tried to stop but didn’t stop on arrival and hit the SUV, flipping it several times. “An entire family lost their life here tonight,” Chronister said during a news conference.
Victims Include 3 Children
The Sheriff office said 5 out of the seven victims died on the spot, while the sixth victim died overnight in the hospital. The victims included 3 children named Lopez, 17; Alyssa Hernandez, 17; and Julian Hernandez, 9. Meanwhile, no one on the train suffered any injuries, Chronister said.
