Coco, An Alcoholic Labrador Dog To Be Treated For Addiction

An alcoholic Labrador has become the first dog to be treated for his alcohol addiction. The dog was treated by a local animal rescue organization. Coco was brought to a charity organization, Woodside Animal Welfare Trust, after his owner died and since then he has been addicted to alcohol.

Coco Is Expected To Recover

Coco along with his friend, Canine, were brought to the animal welfare trust when they were suffering from severe fits, the trust said. Coco’s friend, Canine, couldn’t survive the fits as he died while going through treatment in a special care unit. Coco was strong enough but still remained “to be seriously unwell and required round the clock care”, Woodside Animal Rescue Trust wrote on social media.

Coco Will Be Adopted

After going through the entire treatment procedures, Coco is expected to be adopted. The Woodside trust hinted at his recovery as he has already completed his medications but still requires intense care. “Mentally he is still very anxious at times,” The trust posted on social media.
