Indian and US officials met on Friday to commit to increase economic cooperation between the two countries. They stated that they would work on their opposing Russia stances and unite against China’s economic prowess, reports the Wall Street Journal.
India and US are both engaged in strategic cooperation to counter China’s military force. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called for “friend-shoring”, suggesting to move critical supply chains away from US enemies like China to US allies like India and Vietnam.
Her Indian counterpart, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called for larger US investments into India.
