A teenager was killed and two others wounded during gunshots fired during an argument in Atlanta, according to police.
At about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, news outlets reported that a shooting occurred in the area where the Atlanta fair is being held.
The shooting was the result of an escalating dispute that led to a fight, according to Lt. Ralph Woolfolk of the Atlanta police.
Woolfolk stated that it was a situation in which individuals engaged in a physical altercation and then there were shots fired and weapons were brandished.
According to police, one of the victims, age 16, died on the scene after officers attempted to administer first aid. A 14-year-old and a 19-year-old, whose names were not released immediately by police, were taken to hospitals with gunshot injuries.
It had not been announced that any arrests had taken place as of Sunday morning.
Police did not specify whether anyone involved in the shooting had visited the Atlanta Fair, which is currently being held in two large parking lots near the shooting scene.
