Five Men Wounded In Two Separate Christmas Eve Shootings: Police

On Christmas Eve, two separate shootings in Brooklyn resulted in five men being wounded, police said Saturday.

There were multiple hits around 11:50 p.m. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens as a gunman opened fire on four men outside a deli near Nostrand Ave. and Sterling St., police said.

An adult male, 50, and a male, 41, have been shot in the buttocks and thigh, respectively, by police when they arrived at the scene. Kings County Hospital has treated both victims. Soon after that, two more men – a 39-year-old with a gunshot wound in the back and a 42-year-old with a foot injury – hobbled into Kings County Hospital seeking medical care.

Despite their injuries, all four men are expected to survive, police said.

According to a police source with knowledge of the case, victims confirmed they were at the scene when the shooting occurred, but declined to elaborate.

Approximately two miles away, another woman was shot in the back on Avenue D near E. 46th St. in East Flatbush.

With a minor injury, the victim was rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center by the emergency medical services.
In neither case have police made any arrests, they said.
