Seven Arrested In India Following $800,000 Bank Heist

Seven arrested in India after police crack $800,000 bank heist.

Imagine this: armed men posing as central bank officials casually robbing an ATM cash van in broad daylight.

That’s exactly what happened in Bengaluru, India, in a heist worth 70 million rupees ($800,000).

But police moved fast—seven suspects are now in custody, and most of the cash, 57.6 million rupees, has been recovered.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said investigators are still hunting for “two or maybe three more” accomplices.

Among those arrested are a current cash transport employee, a former worker, and even a local police constable.

The robbery was audacious: the gang stopped the van under the pretense of paperwork checks and loaded the cash into an SUV.

Heist Exposes Vulnerabilities

They swapped vehicles, used fake plates, and carefully chose low-CCTV routes.

It sounds like a movie script, but it’s real life.

Singh praised the massive manhunt—over 200 officers combed five states—but warned there’s more to investigate.

“The vans should not follow the same route and timing repeatedly so as to become predictable,” he said.

He hinted that cash transport protocols might have been exploited.

In the end, it’s a mix of brazen planning and insider access. But as Singh’s words make clear: predictability can be costly.

So, if you’re moving millions in cash, maybe it’s time to rethink your route.
