Trump Signs Law Mandating Release Of Epstein Investigation Files

Trump signs bill ordering justice department to release Epstein files.

In a dramatic turn, President Donald Trump has signed a bill ordering the Justice Department to release all files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump had previously opposed disclosure. He shifted after pushback from Epstein’s victims and even some Republicans.

The legislation cleared Congress with ease—427-1 in the House and unanimous consent in the Senate.

It now requires Attorney General Pam Bondi to make unclassified records “searchable and downloadable” within 30 days.

These include interviews with victims, seized property items, flight logs, and internal communications.

Some details can still be withheld to protect ongoing investigations or victim privacy.

Trump has insisted he’s uninvolved in Epstein’s wrongdoing, claiming, “It’s really a Democrat problem.

    Calls For Transparency

The Democrats were Epstein’s friends, all of them.” Yet released estate documents already feature Epstein messaging in 2018: “I know how dirty Donald is.”

For survivors, the move is monumental. Sky and Amanda Roberts, relatives of Virginia Giuffre, who died earlier this year, said, “Every name must be revealed.

Regardless of power, wealth, or party affiliation.”

Even former Harvard president Larry Summers has paused teaching while the university investigates his links to Epstein.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie expressed concern that the files could still be withheld under new investigations.

He said, “I believe they may be trying to use those investigations as a predicate for not releasing the files.”

So, are we finally seeing transparency—or just another chapter in a saga that refuses to end? Only time will tell.
