Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has decided to suspend his independent run for the White House and showed support Mr. Trump.
Despite being a lifelong Democrat and a member of the Kennedy family Kennedy announced at a press conference that his principles now compel him to back Trump.
Kennedy Removes Name From Ballot
Mr. Kennedy plans to remove his name from the ballot in 10 battleground states but will remain on the ballot in others.
He said in a press conference that he has asked his staff to stop working and donors to withdraw donations .
While announcing the removal of names from 10 battlegrounds, the junior Kennedy said the move aimed to solidify Trump’s support base.
Rift With Family
Kennedy’s decision has caused a rift within his family, with his sister, Kerry Kennedy, calling his support for Trump a “betrayal” of their family’s values.
Kenedy’s wife, Cheryl Hines, said she supported her husband’s termination of the campaign but didn’t comment on his endorsement of Trump.
