Cohen he did what he did to benefit Mr. Trump who wanted Stormy Daniels story buried, the Guardian reported.
Cohen Testifies
Mr. Cohen testified against Dondald Trump, his former boss, over alleged hush-money payments the latter made to adult actresses before the 2016 elections.
Cohen told the prosecutor that he thought Daniels story would be catastrophic for Trump’s 2016 campaign, as women would start to dislike him.
Keeping Trump’s Name Off Payments
Mr. Cohen told the Prosecutors that the goal was to take Trump’s name off the record and hide the payments he made.
Trump’s hush-money case revolved around his alleged payments to adult actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence ahead of the 2016 election.
Daniels later denied she had sexual encounters with the former president after Mr. Cohen paid her to remain silent and deny the rumors.
