A US Air Force member was shot dead by police after they entered a wrong address in Florida.
The deputy sheriff alleges that he acted in self-defense as he saw the airman Roger Fortson armed with a gun upon arrival.
The victim’s family lawyer says he wants a complete investigation into the incident which is currently under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the State Attorney’s Office.
Police Entered Wrong Address
The family lawyer Ben Crump alleges that Fortson was mistakenly targeted and recounted details of the incident from a witness who was on a video call with Fortson during the shooting.
According to a witness who was on video call with the deceased airman, Fortson retrieved his legal gun as he was concerned after hearing aggressive knocks on his door.
The witness says that the officers were in the wrong apartment as there was no disturbance on part of Fortson.
