ISIS Leader Exploded Himself After Being Surrounded

ISIS leader exploded when he was ambushed by rebel forces. Abu Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi was crowned to be the new ISIS leader on 10 March 2022. Latest reports reveal that he was ambushed by the Syrian rebels in a joint operation on Wednesday. The Free Syrian Army (FSA), a rebel group, announced yesterday that he had been killed during an operation in the southern province of Deraa, Syria.

Exploded When Besieged

Quraishi and some of his close fighters were found to be hiding in a covert hideaway in a residential building, according to the opposition fighters on the ground. Salem al Horani, a resident of Jasem and an ex-fighter who participated in the siege of the hideout where the ISIS cell was found, claimed that the ISIS leader detonated a suicide belt after the rebel forces stormed the secret hideout.

ISIS Confirmed The Death

ISIS, later on, confirmed the death of their leader after the incident. In a recorded statement, an Islamic State spokesperson said that the terrorist group has chosen Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Quraishi as its new leader without providing extra details.
