A survey has revealed a drastic drop in homicide rate in the US while the car theft rate has increased across 30 major cities. The survey, conducted by the Council on Criminal Justice showed a 10% decrease in the murder rate for 10 violent, property and drug offenses.

A murder suspect Edi Villalobos escaped the courtroom in the US state of Oregon. A security video footage showed the suspect sprinting from the courtroom where he was to stand for this trial. The suspect was accused of murder and some other felonies. The suspect was chased by the two deputies who escorted him to the courtroom.

Man Arrested For Carrying Bomb In Luggage At US Airport

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man carrying an explosive device to a Pennsylvania airport. The 40-year-old Mark Muffley was arrested the day after the explosive device was spotted in his luggage. He was about to take his flight to Orlando but fled the scene when his name was called over via a loudspeaker.

More than 65 million people across 29 states are expected to be impacted by severe snowstorms and heavy rains. The storm is expected to bring heavy snow, from the Pacific Northwest to the Northeast, with several states reporting 2 feet of snow today. 

US Military Closed Down Air Space Over Montana

The US military temporarily closed down the airspace over Montana. The closure came as the US military radar identified something threatening. A fighter jet was sent to investigate the aerial object but couldn’t find anything in the air. The air space was opened for commercial airlines after the brief closure.
