An Iranian lawmaker has hinted at a possible nuclear test amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Javad Karimi Ghoddusi said on X that it will take a week to conduct nuclear tests after the order is issued from the superior authorities in Iran.
Mr. Javad’s statement came a week after Iran fired more than 300 missiles and drones towards Israel.
Hours before the claim, the Iranian foreign ministry reiterated that “nuclear weapons have no place in Iran’s military doctrine”.
Iran’s Nuclear Activity Continues
Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) raised concerns about Iran’s continued nuclear enrichment.
Rafael Mariano Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told DW, that Iran was “weeks rather than months” away from building a nuclear weapon.
Grossi said that “does not mean that Iran has or would have a nuclear weapon in that space of time”.
